I have tried various models and updates which were applied (including the exact one his installed that evening) and I have never seen this behavior. I have been unable to reproduce this behavior. In this case, the deadline was more than 24 hours previous. The problem here is that we do not deploy any updates as available, and the required deployment only has a 2 hour window in the middle of the night where it is between available and required (deadline reached).

My understanding of this option is that it should only show up for available deployments, or required deployments which have not yet reached the deadline and are still only available. This update was different in that the reboot notification was not giving him a countdown, but rather gave him the snooze option instead (see image in link below). A few days ago my manager noticed that after the Windows updates one evening, the update was waiting to be applied after he got into the office. We have come across what seems to be unexpected behavior in one of our reboot notifications. As a general rule, if someone has flair, they almost definitely know what they're talking about. Microsoft employees typically have MSFT Official flair, and MVPs usually have MSFT Enterprise Mobility MVP with a link to their personal site/blog.
